SUPERCRITICAL CO2 EXTRACTION

Supercritical CO2 extraction is an efficient method, to separate active ingredients from plant material. It is one of the gentlest, most flexible, dynamic and nature friendly techniques used for extraction. These products are extracted at ambient temperatures and high pressures to avoid loss of aroma and degradation of actives. Apart from being solvent residue free, supercritical fluid extraction is a green process. The low viscosity and high diffusivity of supercritical fluid enhances the penetrating power based on the high mass transfer of solutes into the fluid.

Conventional extraction methods require a purification step due to traces of solvents and this compromise the extract’s quality, creating trans-fats. Our COâ‚‚ extraction method offers the "low temperature and non-toxic" alternative. After extraction COâ‚‚ evaporates completely, leaving pure extracts identical to their origins.

Our Extraction system ranges from as small as 10 grams to as large as 100 Kilograms or more depending on our Clients. Our system have the option to be fully automated, which helps in streamlining the process.
To perform an extraction, the plant material is ground and placed into the extraction vessel. Liquid CO2 is first converted to Supercritical form. A pump then forces supercritical CO2 into the extraction vessel where it meets the plant and breaks the trichomes allowing it to dissolve part of the plant material. A valve then allows the extract material to flow into a separate vessel. By changing the temperature and pressure as well as flow rate, certain molecules will bond to CO2, allowing them to be separated from the plant. Then CO2 reroutes back to the storage tank to be used again during the next batch.

We have strong experiences in CBD oil extraction. We have experience in designing large scale machines with batch capacity going up to 600 Kg.
